Defense wins championships, in any sport.

If you can keep the other guy, or the other team, from scoring, chances are that you won’t get beat. And the Canadian men’s hockey team proved that today, making a single goal stand up in a 1-0 victory over the United States.

The Canadian team has allowed just three goals so far in this Olympic tournament. This means that Sweden had better find some way to put the puck in the net against Canada on Sunday, because the U.S.A. wasn’t able to do it.

So now it’s simple: Win the game on Saturday against Finland and get a bronze medal, or lose and go home with nothing. I vote we take the bronze, but some goals will have to be scored in the process. Let’s hope it will happen.
