For the first time in a couple weeks, I have plenty of time to research and construct lineups for the NFL weekend.
So we’re back with an advice post. As always, you’ll get free tickets and what not if you sign up for DraftKings using this link. Lets get to it.
Carson Wentz ($6,400) – I’ll probably pair him with Jordan Matthews at least once but for the most part, I’ll be stacking him with Zach Ertz. Ertz is priced way down at $3,500 and expects to see a full workload against a terrible pass defense that’s especially terrible against TE’s. Yes, please.
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($5,100) – He’ll be my most used QB of the weekend, by far. I’m hoping this train doesn’t become too full and his ownership numbers spike. Depending on what we hear on the health of Quincy Enunwa, I’ll be looking to stack them at an absurdly low price. If there’s any question, I’ll roll with Marshall instead.
Melvin Gordon ($7,000) – More so for cash than tournaments but he’ll be rock solid and get a bunch of touches.
Todd Gurley ($6,500) – This is the week he blows up. Not only that, he should see really low ownership numbers with the slow start and the Bills on deck. I have him going for 100+ yards and at least one score.
Jordan Howard ($5,200) – The Colts suck. They can’t do much of anything, let alone stop the run. Howard will be the workhorse again and if he ends up getting a goal line carry or two, he becomes a really great play.
Terrance West ($4,800) – Yes, Kenneth Dixon is back. But he’s a rookie and it’s his first real action. West will be the lead back once again and should see 20+ carries, including the goal line work, against a defense that really struggles to stop the run.
DeAndre Washington ($3,400) – GPP flier. We won’t be seeing Latavius Murray and Washington is the the most talented back they have available. He’ll lose a little work to Jalen Richard but I expect him to see enough opportunity to blow this price tag out of the water.
Amari Cooper ($7,200) – Like Gurley, we’ve been waiting for his monster game. It happens this week. 8+ catches, 100+ yards and a score. Jason Verrett has been placed on the IR, the only real threat the Chargers had to slow down passing attacks.
Julian Edelman ($6,700) – The PPR format makes him difficult to pass up. Without knowing if Gronk is Gronk, Edelman will be Brady’s favorite and most familiar target. Reports out of practice today are that he’s moving around fine so he should be a full go. Don’t be surprised if he ends up with double-digit receptions.
Golden Tate ($4,900) – Marvin Jones will see a lot of attention and the Philly pass defense hasn’t been that good. Stafford will be forced to get Tate more involved and I expect Detroit to throw a ton in this one. I like Tate in cash games too, actually.
Quincy Enunwa ($4,600) – Check on his health but if he plays, he’s a really good option. We know Eric Decker won’t be playing, immediately vaulting Enunwa to the #2 receiver. With all the attention Brandon Marshall will be getting, Enunwa will be in line for a nice day especially considering they’ll probably be playing from behind.
Sammie Coates ($3,600) – He’s quietly sliding right into that #2 role in the Pittsburgh passing attack and that, well that is a nice place to be. The Jets will be without Revis in this one, forcing them to roll more coverage over to Brown. Coates should hit on a big play or two and the best news is that his snaps counts are gradually increasing. I’ll be using him everywhere at only $3,600.
Cameron Meredith ($3,000) – Want a deep sleeper? Meredith is your man. With Kevin White on the shelf and Eddie Royal banged up, Meredith gives the Bears a deep threat to offset all that attention Alshon gets. Most importantly for a receiver, reports out of Chicago are that the staff likes him a lot, he’s just a really solid player. He caught four of his five targets last week after White went down and could easily see double-digit targets against a bad Colts secondary.
Zach Ertz ($3,500) – I know it’s risky but he’s the only TE I’ll be playing this week. There’s a small chance I swap Gronk in somewhere on Sunday if his health seems to be better but for the most part, it’ll be all Ertz. Check out the Carson Went section for my reasoning.
